Fun frozen recipes for dogs

There’s no better time than summertime for some ice cold treats, and your dog will agree when you make these super-simple frozen goodies for them! These quick recipes can be made using Weruva pet food from Poudre Pet & Feed Supply and a couple ingredients from your local grocer.

 

Weruva Peanut Butter “Pupkin” Ice Cream

Ingredients:

  • 1 pouch Weruva Pumpkin Patch Up!
  • ½ cup nonfat, plain Greek yogurt
  • ¼ cup natural peanut butter (no sugar added)

Directions:

Add all ingredients to a bowl and stir until combined. Place bowl in freezer for at least two hours. Once frozen, scoop and serve to your dog.

Weruva Pupsicles

Ingredients:

  • Your pup’s favorite pouch of Weruva
  • Small bully or No-Hide stick

Directions:

Cut a small slit in the bottom of the Weruva food pouch. Insert chew stick into slit. Place pouch upside down in freezer for 4 to 6 hours. After frozen, unwrap and let your dog enjoy.

Weruva Pup Pops

Ingredients:

  • Any Weruva wet dog food (pouch or can)
  • Blueberries
  • Strawberries, sliced
  • Green peas
  • (Any dog-friendly, diced fruits or vegetables can be used) 

Directions (video below):

Using a silicone mold or ice cube tray, place some blueberries, strawberries, and/or peas in the bottom of mold. Top off the tray by filling remaining space in mold with Weruva wet food. Freeze for 4 to 6 hours. Take treats out of molds and treat yo’ dog.
