Feeding Guidelines
Ideal feeding amounts will vary by age, weight, and activity level so the guide below should be used as an initial recommendation. Divide the cups per day by the number of feedings per day. Be sure to always provide clean, fresh water. Along with dry food, we recommend feeding raw or wet food to help increase the amount of water in your pet’s diet.
Weight of Cat | 4-7 lb | 8-10 lb | 11-15 lb | over 15 lb (over 6.8 kg) |
---|---|---|---|---|
Serving Size | ¼ - ½ cup (32-64 g) | ½ - ¾ cup (64-96 g) | ¾ - 1 (96-127g) | + ⅛ cup (15 g) for each 2 lb of body weight |
Feeding Adult Cats During Gestation and Lactation: Provide increasing amounts of food during the second half of gestation, up to twice as much as the normal intake. During lactation, provide as much as your cat will consume.
Feeding Kittens: Introduce dry food around the fifth week and provide as much food as kittens will consume from weaning until twelve months of age.
Feeding Wet and Dry Together: Decrease the amount of Tiki Cat Born Carnivore by approximately ⅛ cup for every small can (2.8-3 oz) of Tiki Cat wet food. Feeding amounts vary with lifestyle, life stage and activity level. Always consult your veterinarian if you are unsure how much to feed your cat. Make sure your cat has access to fresh, clean water.
